K. Dean Reeves is a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist in the Greater Kansas City area who trained resident physicians through the University of Kansas. He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. From 1986 to 2015, he served as a clinical assistant and associate professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He is a research scientist and pain treatment physician who learned of dextrose prolotherapy in 1990 and began prolotherapy research in 1995. Since then, his research areas have expanded to include perineural injection treatment, hydro-dissection of nerves, and other alternative methods. He has served as the primary investigator in several RCTs, but his primary passion is assisting other researchers in all phases of research, from design through article revisions, resulting in 50 peer-reviewed publications related to the therapeutic use of dextrose or platelet-rich plasma.
